episode 99

The holiday season is coming up and for a lot of us it can be a really stressful time. Between trying to decorate, cook for tons of people, buy the best gift for everyone or just the general hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it can be overwhelming. Which is why decluttering can be so life changing.

If you can create a low stress, low maintenance, decluttered home it will feel like an oasis in times of stress. So, if you're looking to clear out your home before the holiday season; whether it's to help you maintain a cleaner home, have less to manage and reduce your stress, or to make room for new items you got at the latest Black Friday Sale, this episode is for you.

In this episode I discuss:

  • Decluttering your digital space, this often goes overlooked but make sure to clear out your inbox, unsubscribe from unnecessary email lists, delete old photos and unused apps.

  • I try to live by the 'one in one out' rule but often times when we get something new, we have a tendency to still hang onto the old

  • Letting go of items that no longer bring you joy, clear out that space so that when you do find something you absolutely love you have room for it

  • Learning to let go of sentimental items or gifts can be hard but remember holding onto something out of guilt just causes stress, it's okay to let it go, it is not a reflection of your relationship with someone to get rid of things you don't need

  • Clear out old consumables. I didn't think of consumables as clutter because the idea is to use them up, but if you're not actually using them or they've expired they're just clutter and need to go
